So I followed the path.

I went to college.

Then law school.

Then business school.

I worked in corporate America, made a six-figure income, bought the house, had the car, contributed to the 401(k), and checked a lot of the boxes people are told to check.

And yet, after all that education and all that work, I was still laid off twice from large companies that were supposed to offer stability.

That changed how I thought about work, how I thought about money, and what I wanted to teach my kids.

I didn’t want my family’s future to depend only on a job, a company, a boss, a retirement account, or the next corporate reorganization…

I wanted my kids to understand something I learned much later in life: 

• There are different ways to make money.
• There are different ways to create income.
• There are different ways to think about education, goals, business, taxes, health, and opportunity.

And those lessons should not wait until adulthood.

5 years before finishing 2 IRONMAN^® triathlons only 6 weeks apart, I never thought I would do such an event. It just wasn’t my thing. In those 5 years though, I started living bigger, dreaming bigger and taking control of my time and future.

It turns out that not only were the lessons I learned in my business life applicable to my endurance life but the lessons from my endurance life were also applicable to my business life.
